Thorne believes that all youth, regardless of race, ethnicity, or family income, deserve the opportunity to connect with nature. Low-income and Latino youth in our community have less access to nature than their peers, and we are working to address this inequity. A connection to nature increases physical fitness, social and emotional competence, academic achievement, and builds the foundation for becoming a steward of the Earth.
A bridge to nature is a bridge to a brighter future- for our community’s underserved youth and for our planet!
NKJN
Nature Kids/Jóvenes de la Naturaleza is a collective impact project run by Thorne and local partners that connects youth and families from Lafayette, Boulder, and Longmont with opportunities to explore, learn, and thrive in nature.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Thorne’s goal is for every Boulder County child, regardless of race, ethnicity, or income, to have the chance to connect with nature. Each year, we provide scholarships and program subsidies to ensure access for all.
