Do you love to explore nature with the children in your life? Thorne welcomes you and your little ones to the Sombrero Marsh Environmental Education Center for a fun, hands-on, self-guided nature experience. From 1-5 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays (excluding holidays), you can come in, chat with an educator, grab an exploration backpack full of dip-nets, insect trays, field guides, and a map of the facility. From there, you can head out to the marsh to identify grasses, listen to songbirds, and catch creepy-crawlies in a net. There are even indoor exhibits with nature specimens and a nature library to explore! There is no charge to visit Sombrero Marsh or to explore the indoor exhibits and reservations are not required. For more information about Thorne’s Family Visits, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 303.499.3647.
